Environmentally Friendly Traveling

The mantra “leave only footprints; take only pictures” is our hope for every visitor. Unfortunately, whether it be at historical sites or natural areas, phenomena like littering, vandalism, and stepping on the grass and flowers are ubiquitous. In grasslands or meadows, the site of a jagged stem, all that remains of a flower picked by some visitor, fills us with sadness; carvings such as “Kilroy was here” and other forms of vandalism on splendid historical relics make a pecular combination ; when big winds blow, instead of hearing the rustling of leaves, we hear the rustling of plastic as bags fly everywhere. All these are a threat to tourism resources and the environment.

We travel in order to get involved in nature, enjoy it and enrich our knowledge of the world. Whether it’s the ancients traveling for study, or like today’s people traveling to escape daily stresses, we should understand and respect natural and cultural features and protect wildlife. “”Leave only footprints; take only pictures” is the right principle for traveling.Simply put it means don’t litter or pollute or perform any other harmful behaviors.

Suggestions for visitors:

  • Please speak quietly when you are near the animals. Do not make strange or loud noises or play music. The pandas like a peaceful environment so please respect their habitat.
  • No flash photography, especially of the baby pandas. Their eyes are very sensitive to the light and it may harm them.
  • Don’t feed the animals. Do not cut the bamboo growing around the base and give it to the pandas. These animals have very specific dietary requirements and their nutrition is carefully monitored by their keepers.
  • Don’t throw anything into the panda exhibits. It could injure or cause serious harm to the animal if they ate it.
  • Keep our base clean.Do not leave graffiti anywhere on the rocks, trees or buildings.
  • Only smoke in designated areas. The risk of fire is too great anywhere else in the park.
  • Do not pick the flowers or cut the trees. Do not catch or tease the wildlife, butterflies, ants, and other insects.
  • Don’t lean or sit on the fences. There are some seats/benches and designated rest areas available.
  • Do not litter. Use the proper bins to dispose of all trash or take it out of the base when you leave. Besides giant pandas, there are other wild animals living at the base. Please respect their home.

If you see anybody doing any of the above, please correct them as we are all responsible for protecting the environment.

Thank you for your cooperation!
